There's that moment that you apply for the opportunity that seems so unreachable that your stomach sinks when you hit the 'apply now' button. In the business world these are called 'stretch goals' - things that you want to achieve in a given amount of time but almost seem impossible when you write them down in your business plan.
For us - one stretch goal was being able to attend Collision as an ALPHA Start-up in New Orleans. Collision is “America’s fastest growing tech conference” created by the team behind Web Summit. In two years, Collision has grown to over 7,500 attendees from more than 50 countries. Attendees include CEOs of both the world’s fastest growing startups and the world’s largest companies, alongside leading investors and media.
Last July, before we had augmented Kakadu, before we had a business plan, before we had met Prime Minister Turnbull we audaciously hit the 'apply now' button for this opportunitiy.
On 22 February the email arrived from Collision - all it said was 'Our Decision'.
"Dear Mikaela....Delighted to say that Indigital has been selected to participate on the ALPHA startup track".
OMG. We are going to New Orleans! Dreams to do come true when you have a great team, a great idea, a great plan and a great prototype.
